Welcome message by the Founding Members of ISEM-Africa

Dear colleagues,
Welcome to the African Chapter for Ecological Modelling, which will run as one of now 4 Chapters under the umbrella of ISEM (International Society for Ecological Modelling). The African Chapter was established at the recent conference of the European Chapter on Ecological Modelling (ECEM) held in Marrakech, Morocco (27-30 Oct 2014), organised jointly by OGS in Trieste and Cadi Ayyad University (see here for details). ISEM now has an African, Asian, European and North American Chapter.

The aim of establishing the African Chapter is to promote ecological modelling throughout the African continent, provide information regarding study opportunities, workshops and conferences, and to provide a forum for communication.

Please distribute this announcement through your networks on the continent, and to your African colleagues and students studying and working abroad.

Bienvenue à l'antenne  Africaine de la modélisation écologique, cette antenne fonctionnera comme l'une des quatre antennes existantes, sous l'égide de ISEM (International Society for Ecological Modelling). L’antenne  Africaine a été créé au cours de la récente conférence de l’antenne Européenne qui s’est tenue à Marrakech, Maroc, du 27 au 30 Octobre 2014, organisée conjointement par OGS à Trieste en Italie et l'Université Cadi Ayyad à Marrakech, Marocco (pour plus de détails, voir ici). La Société Internationale de Modélisation Ecologique a maintenant une antenne Africaine, Asiatique, Européenne et Nord-américaine.

L'objectif de la création d'une antenne Africaine est de promouvoir la modélisation écologique dans tout le continent Africain, fournir des renseignements sur les possibilités d'études, d'ateliers et de conférences, et de créer un forum pour la communication.

Merci de diffuser cette annonce dans vos réseaux sur le continent, et à vos collègues et étudiants Africains travaillant à l'étranger.

Este é um anúncio do Capítulo Africano para Modelação Ecológica, que será executado como um dos quatro capítulos actualemente sob a égide da ISEM (Sociedade Internacional para Modelação Ecológica). O Capítulo Africano foi criado na recente conferência do Capítulo Europeu sobre Modelação Ecologica (ECEM), realizada em Marrakech, Marrocos, organizada conjuntamente pela OGS em Trieste e Universidade Cadi Ayyad (ver aqui para mais detalhes).
